Very interesting work from the Facebook Reality Labs Research team with a path towards improving our hearing, which they refer to as perceptual superpowers and define as:
technological advancements that let us hear better in noisy environments by turning up the volume on the person sitting across from us while turning down the volume on unwanted background noises.
Also to note in FB’s blog post is an additional separate effort in hearing sciences, implying research & development around hearing loss.
Who predicted that Facebook would get into hearing loss? Looks promising!
