Since its start in 2020, "C20: Take Your 20 for Veteran Health” has become a popular and helpful program for staff of the Veterans Health Administration. In June, the show spotlighted XanderGlasses as an innovative assistive technology available to qualifying Veterans with severe to profound hearing loss.

Hosted by Dr. Chad Kessler, the Executive Director of Emergency Medicine for the Veterans Affairs (VA), C20 is a live interactive webinar that provides a platform where subject matter experts, VA leaders, and staff at all career levels can interact and discuss critical issues in Veteran health care.

The webinar, Dr. "Chai" Chad explains, has evolved to "give frontline healthcare employees a chance to 'take their 20' – to have a wellness and learning break, be together, go on a tour of the VA, and recognize exceptional colleagues."

Xander's co-founders were delighted and honored when Dr. Chad invited them to appear on C20!  You can watch and listen to that C20 webinar, Episode 365: "Real-Time Captions: The Future of Assistive Tech with XanderGlasses."

We chatted with Dr. Chad about Xander's collaboration with the VHA under the iNET program and discussed how XanderGlasses could improve communication for Veterans with severe to profound hearing loss.

C20 started as a roots campaign in April 2020, as part of an initiative of the Institute for Learning, Education and Development (ILEAD) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, to provide up-to-the-minute COVID-19 resources quickly and efficiently to clinical employees across VHA.

The webinar grew so popular, it was made available to all VA staff and expanded in scope to cover various medical and public health topics and feature pioneering subject matter experts,  including the Honorable Tanya Bradsher, a combat Veteran who served for 20 years in the United States Army, and held several leadership roles in Veteran Affairs, and served as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security before being appointed the 10th Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Webinars address various issues, from innovations in emergency elderly health care to early stroke intervention to setting boundaries and coping with burnout. Xander was honored to appear on C20 and share early observations on how XanderGlasses have impacted Veterans. Taking those 20 minutes left us refreshed and inspired.
