Xander Wins Hearing Technology Innovation Award for Caption Technology

The Hearing Technology Innovator Awards is a competitive international program sponsored by Hearing Health & Technology Matters to recognize and reward breakthroughs and innovation within the hearing industry. We are excited to share that  XanderGlasses won a Hearing Technology Innovation Award for caption technology, in the category of assistive technology & software.

Each year, the Awards attract submissions from a range of companies worldwide—from startups to well-established industry leaders. In 2024, the competition highlighted growing global advancements in hearing healthcare, focusing on patient-centered solutions and improved user experiences.

All submissions fall within distinct categories, including hearing aids, personal listening devices, service delivery, assistive technology and software, auditory implants, and therapeutics, and are subjected to audience voting and also assessed by a panel of judges.

Within categories, technologies are evaluated on 4 key principles: 1) Innovation in treating or assisting those with acquired hearing loss. 2) Effectiveness in addressing the limitations of previous technology. 3) Efficiency and 4) Utility in promoting greater ease of use by the end-user and/or practitioner.

Each year, an independent panel of judges chooses one product or service from the category winners as the "Innovator of the Year." In 2024, Interacoustics received that honor for its Audible Contrast Threshold (ACT™) test. The ACT™ differs from other standard hearing tests administered by audiologists it uses modulated noise signals to predict how a person with hearing loss will be able to hear speech in noisy environments. Audiologists can use results from the ACT test to adjust adaptive features on individual hearing aids.
